Hi My name is Cassandra O’Neill and I’m an author, avid reader, and I love libraries. I have my first book coming out in October that I co-authored with Monica Brinkerhoff. The book is called Five Elements of Collective Leadership. We are passionate about collective leadership and on a mission to bring it to the world.

I have loved reading and libraries since I was a kid, I loved reading biographies of famous women when I was in first grade. We had a great library in our school. My parents and grandmother also loved reading, and they all teachers. My grandmother worked in school libraries and taught children to read.

I support EveryLibrary/Libraries because they are essential for communities and families. People who work in libraries love learning and they love helping people learn and find information and resources that will help them. They are optimistic and enthusiastic. They will go to great lengths to help anyone who walks in, calls them, or logs in to their websites — find what they need for themselves and their families.
Whether it’s helping young children learn to love reading through story time, helping teenagers learn valuable and marketable skills, helping someone find a job, or lending seeds through a seed library. There are still bookmobiles and also bicycles which have books that travel to community events, in cities, suburbs, and farms. Libraries help connect communities and families with the joys of reading and learning new skills that we all need as technology continues to change how we live and work. Want to learn more about 3-D printing, a bullet journal, or something called maker spaces? Head out to your local library and be prepared to be surprised and maybe even overjoyed.
