Illinois House Bill 4567 would expand protections for libraries and library workers against bomb threats or other threats of violence. It is designed to equip law enforcement and State's Attorneys with the appropriate mechanisms to confront and resolve threats directed at libraries and their personnel effectively.

The bill has passed the House and is under consideration by the state Senate. EveryLibrary strongly supports this bill. We cannot continue to see threats like this targeting our libraries and civic spaces.
