They're Banning Books About Butts and Farts
These are the same books that they're using to push support for the Federal Book Ban Bills.
Yes, they’re banning books about butts and farts.
You really can’t make this stuff up.
In Llano County, Texas, officials removed a group of children’s books that became known in federal court records as the “Butt and Fart Books.”
These same books were on Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick's hit list.
These are the same books that they're using to push support for the Federal Book Ban Bills.

The dangerous literature in question?
I Need a New Butt!
I Broke My Butt!
My Butt Is So Noisy!
Larry the Farting Leprechaun
Freddie the Farting Snowman
These are silly children’s books. They make kids laugh. And somehow they became part of a years-long fight over what Americans are allowed to read in their public libraries.
It would be funny if the consequences weren’t so serious.
Because the same Llano County fight also involved books about race, racism, sexuality, and LGBTQ+ people. What started with complaints about goofy children’s books became a much larger battle over who gets to decide what everyone else can read.
And that is exactly why EveryLibrary keeps fighting.

Book censorship doesn’t always arrive with someone announcing, “We’re here to censor your library.”
Sometimes it starts with:
“That book is inappropriate.”
“Take this one off the shelf.”
“Put that one behind the desk.”
And apparently:
“That book has too many farts.”
Libraries already have professional librarians, collection policies, reconsideration procedures, and parents who can decide what their own children read.

Start a monthly donation, and we'll send you these great socks as a thank you!

What they don’t need is a small group of people making those decisions for everybody else.
If we let them ban the butt books today, what gets pulled tomorrow?
Please stand with EveryLibrary and help us defend the freedom to read.
Take action against book bans and help us protect libraries, librarians, and readers across the country.
Because America has bigger problems than Freddie the Farting Snowman.
