PETITION: Support the Fight Book Bans Act (2026)

3,997 signatures
Goal: 25,000 signatures

EveryLibrary is proud to support the reintroduction of the "Fight Book Bans Act" H.R.7691 (2026), led by Rep. Maxwell Frost and co-sponsored by Rep. Frederica Wilson and Rep. Jamie Raskin.

Across the country, schools are being forced to spend time and resources responding to bad-faith book challenges. Too often, they simply cannot afford the fight. We thank these leaders for stepping forward to help school districts defend access to books in the face of rising censorship.

H.R.7691 would provide federal grants to help districts protect students’ access to educational materials and maintain a full, uncensored learning environment. Now it needs public support.

Please add your name today and tell Congress to pass the Fight Book Bans Act.

Together, we can help ensure every student has access to the books and ideas they need to learn and succeed.
