Donor Research, Cultivation, and Fundraising Volunteer
Description:
Our Fundraising Volunteers work with a team of individuals to use data sources to research potential donors to library causes and issues. We are looking for someone who is interested in taking an innovative approach to identifying donors to library issues across the country. We are excited about someone who is great at contacting potential donors to solicit their contributions and reach our fundraising goals. These may be donors to specific actions for library causes such as supporting state wide or local legislation, local campaigns and elections, or project specific to help EveryLibrary meet the needs of building and maintaining a suite of national advocacy tools, training, and resources for libraries.
Duties:
Our Fundraising Volunteers will work closely with the Fundraising Coordinator and key team members involved in the fundraising process. Their primary responsibilities will include:
Donor Research: Utilize data platforms like iWave (Kindsight) and other resources to identify potential donors who align with key library issues and advocacy efforts nationwide.
Donor Outreach: Conduct outreach calls and follow-ups with potential donors, building meaningful connections to solicit contributions and drive fundraising goals.
Email Campaigns and Follow-Ups: Assist in drafting, sending, and tracking donor outreach emails, follow-up communications, and thank-you messages.
Campaign Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and implement fundraising campaigns, including supporting statewide and local legislative actions. You will gain valuable experience in crafting targeted messages and honing outreach techniques.
Crafting Campaign Messaging: Work with the team to refine messaging and communication materials to effectively convey the urgency and importance of library-related causes. This includes creating a compelling narrative about how donors’ contributions make a tangible difference.
Data Management and Reporting: Help maintain accurate donor records, manage tracking sheets using tools like Google Sheets, and work with our CRM, NationBuilder, to ensure communication and organized fundraising activities. Volunteers will learn valuable skills in CRM management and data tracking.
Flexible Commitment Opportunities: We offer flexible options for involvement based on volunteer availability, allowing you to contribute consistently or during special projects, depending on your interest and schedule.
Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a comfort level in contacting and speaking with donors.
Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment and take initiative independently.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to track outreach efforts effectively.
Resilient and goal-oriented, with a positive attitude even in the face of challenges.
Preferred: Experience in fundraising, outreach, or volunteer-based roles.
Proficiency in using Google Sheets and Excel for data management.
Bonus: Familiarity with donor research platforms like iWave (Kindsight) and experience using NationBuilder.
