Drawing a Line in Huntington Beach

Election day is June 10th and we're running out of time to stop the lies from book banners and extremists.

We, the people, are drawing a line in Huntington Beach, California.

Election day is only one week away and they need additional resources to reach every eligible voter in this final push!

We’re coming together to protect our libraries. Because most of us agree, book bans have no place in our free society.

But extremists in Huntington Beach, California are trying to determine what children can and cannot read.

They are spreading lies about what Huntington Beach libraries do and who they serve in order to try to take control of the library’s future.

They’ve covered the streets in explicit signs about an upcoming special election - where the people of Huntington Beach have an opportunity to stop their hostile takeover of the libraries - in an attempt to divide and distract the community from their goal: banning books they decide are inappropriate, instead of allowing parents to choose for their own families what to read.

But we can help stop them.

Pro-library fighters are on the ground every day in Huntington Beach, knocking on doors, sending text messages, and doing everything they can to stop the hostile takeover of their libraries.

Their campaign is aptly named “Our Library Matters.”

But they need our help, and time is running out with one week before election day.

HELP OUR LIBRARY MATTERS OVER THE FINISH LINE

Together, we can say NO to politicians deciding what our families can read.

We can say NO to the bullies and the billionaires and ensure Hungtingon Beach’s libraries remain free and fair for everyone (and everyone means everyone, no exceptions).

And we can help the people of Huntington Beach say YES to Measures A & B to give our children the future they deserve.
