School Library Action Week - Save School Librarians.

Fund the fight for school librarians.

EveryLibrary works year-round to protect school library jobs at the state and local level. We show up at board meetings, train library advocates, and run the voter campaigns that keep librarians in schools. Your donation funds that work.

Wednesday, April 29 · School Library Action Week

School libraries don't run themselves.

Certified school librarians are disappearing. Districts are cutting positions, consolidating roles, and replacing trained librarians with aides or nothing at all. Students lose the one adult in the building whose job is to help them find the right book, research a paper, and think for themselves. Today, stand with the school librarians still fighting to stay in their schools.

Day 02 · School Library Action Week

Stand with school librarians.

Take the Pledge to Be Mighty for your school library

Inspired by Kwame Alexander’s The Mighty Macy, this pledge asks students, families, and community members to stand up for their school library. Sign up at saveschoollibrarians.org and receive the Be Mighty action toolkit by email.

Why this matters

A school without a librarian is a school with a locked library. Shelves go unmaintained, book challenges go unanswered, and students lose access to the research help that shapes whether they succeed in high school and beyond. When students, families, and communities speak up together, change is possible.

The rest of the week.
