Extremists are targeting Nevada libraries and schools. AB416 ensures judicial review protects free speech. The bill has passed, but it is waiting for Governor Lombardo to sign it into law. Help defend Nevada's free speech values and the right to read. Send a message to the Governor now asking that he make this bill a law.
We have a chance to protect Nevada schools and libraries from book bans for years to come.
AB416 will protect librarians and access to books by:
- Preventing book bans based on the identity of the author or the ideas contained in a book
- Clearly defining obscenity according to state and federal law
- Protect librarians and other public servants from harassment, threats, doxing, and violence
- Prevent professional retaliation against librarians and public servants who follow anti-censorship policies
But Governor Lombardo still has to act. Please tell the Governor to sign AB416 today.
